How is going fragrance free an act of community care and universal accessibility? What does fragrance free mean anyways? What's the difference between unscented, fragrance free and free and clear and why should I care? Why does the DCC keep asking me to not wear fragrances to DCC events? These questions and more addressed at our Fragrance Free skill session.

Access Info: The DCC is located on the second floor, accessible by elevator. UIC is not a fragrance free campus. In order for us to maintain a low fragrance environment, please refrain from wearing fragrances to DCC events. Contact dcc@uic.edu for additional access needs such as ASL or CART.

The Community Care Kit Project aims to expand our notions of what counts as care and shift the responsibility of care from individuals towards the community. When do practices of self-care become another demand that we condition ourselves for ever greater productivity, or another niche for consumer culture? How can care practices be sustaining; how can they put interdependency into practice; and how can care connect to social movements?

There are two main components of the project for 2019-20:

- Creating community-sourced shoebox care kits that can be borrowed from the DCC
- Skills sessions that focus on practicing particular tools for self- and community care
