Join the UIC Disability Cultural Center, the Campus Advocacy Network, & the Women's Leadership and Resource Center for an afternoon of crafting as we hold space for disabled survivors of ableist and gender-based violence. Uplift stories of healing and resistance with craftivism!
We will share some framing thoughts and then participants will be invited to make art on articles of clothing for a public art installation--sharing their stories, bearing witness, &/or expressing solidarity. All are welcome.
All craft materials will be provided, as well as confidential support, resources for survivors, and snacks.
Covid-19 Safety: Masking is no longer required on UIC's campus except in clinical settings. However, we ask that you wear a mask in the DCC space to keep our communities safe and show solidarity with immunocompromised and disabled people. We have some extras available!
Access information: CART live captioning will be provided in the Zoom and projected into the event space. The DCC space is located on the 2nd floor of BSB and is accessible by elevator. Please refrain from wearing strong scents to DCC events! Contact us with any questions or access requests: dcc@uic.edu or can@uic.edu (312) 996-0372.
