What does it mean to tell--and share--disabled stories? Join lawyer and oral historian Pia Justesen as she talks about her experience collecting stories from Chicago-area disability advocates and community members for From the Periphery: Real-Life Stories of Disability. She will be joined by three of the people whose stories are included in the book for a conversation about sharing disabled stories: What is the role of storytelling in advocacy work for equality and inclusive societies? What are best practices for doing oral histories or interviews? What is the impact of collecting and sharing our stories?
